People often ask what drew me to homeopathy and the simple answer is the honey bee.  Some years ago, a dear friend was suffering from a severe case of poison ivy.  It had encrusted her legs and toes and had spread to the back of her torso all the way up to her armpits.  Her family doctor prescribed prednisone, a powerful drug that suppresses the immune system, but after taking it for six weeks, there was no improvement.

During that time, my friend had an appointment with her chiropractor, who, after seeing the desperate state of her skin, asked her a number of detailed questions and then prescribed a homeopathic tincture of bee venom (Apis mellifica).  Within three days, the poison ivy started to clear up and within two weeks, it was entirely gone.  I was very impressed!

Fast forward a number of years, and I found myself at a fork in the road with my career.  Instead of continuing with my then job, I decided I wanted to help others with homeopathy as my friend’s chiropractor had with her.

I believe we’re fortunate to have the health care system that we do.  While it is excellent at dealing with urgent medical conditions such as heart attacks, broken bones, physical trauma, etc., it is not always as effective in dealing with chronic or long-lasting symptoms.  This is why I am a strong believer in integrative health care.

Homeopathy is well equipped to deal with both acute and chronic illness.  Most importantly, homeopathy aims at getting to the root of the problem, emphasizes the individual rather than the disease, views the body and mind as an integrated unit, and heals gently without adverse side effects.

I have had my share of health issues and I know how important it is to have a health care practitioner who takes more than a passing interest in your well being, a practitioner who truly listens, sees your relationship as a team effort, champions your best interests, values your opinions and insights, and creates an environment of trust.

I am committed to moving my patients toward a better state of health.  I take my responsibility as a health care practitioner, as a homeopath, very seriously.  Once I take the case of a patient, I cannot rest until I’ve understood it thoroughly and figured out the steps needed for the restoration of health.

In today’s fast-paced throw-away society, we’d all like to be able to just pop a pill and have all our troubles immediately fade away.  However, we know that this is not realistic.  Just as chronic illness develops slowly over time, it takes time to restore an individual back to health.  Sometimes, it may take several homeopathic remedies before healing begins to take place.  I ask for your patience because of this.

If you decide to choose me as your homeopath, know that I will do my utmost to help you.
