In addition to homeopathic treatment, the following services are provided:
Intestinal Permeability (Leaky Gut) Testing Leaky gut occurs when the lining of our intestines becomes abnormally permeable, allowing bacteria, food and other large molecules to pass through. A key controller of this gateway is Zonulin, a protein found in intestinal cells. Zonulin testing is a very useful screening test of gut status.
Food Sensitivity (IgG) Testing A true food allergy response happens when your immune systems overreacts to an allergen such as certain foods, insect stings and medications. The onset is rapid (within minutes to hours) and produces serious, life-threatening reactions such as throat or tongue swelling and shortness of breath. Food allergies involve IgE antibodies.
Food sensitivities or intolerances are often confused with allergies. Food sensitivities can arise when we eat the same foods day after day with little variety causing the body to become sensitized to the food, and from the absence of specific chemicals or enzymes needed to digest a food substance. Symptoms are less intense and may take place over a prolonged period of time (within 30 minutes but up to 48 hours) after eating the offending food item. Food sensitivities involve IgG antibodies and are more chronic, less acute and less obvious in their presentation. Some common food sensitivity reactions are widespread muscle and joint pain, frequent headaches or migraines, gas, bloating, constipation, eczema, acne, depression, insomnia, etc.
Because IgG food reactions take hours or days to develop, it is difficult to determine which food is responsible for the reaction without doing testing.
